Pali is the Hawai'ian word for windward cliff. A gap is an opening or empty space in between things.
Some of you, well versed in music, will recognize the title as the name of a rather good Jimi Hendrix song. Others may recall countless conversations with all kinds of people about the difference between Nepali culture and American ways. A few of you would have sussed this out even if I didn't tell you, but I find that laying things out as clearly as I can helps you the reader and me.
This place is intended to chronicle my explorations of that Pali Gap between the rich cultures of Nepal, my birthplace, and the United States, where I live. I hope you enjoy the time spent here.
